Direct bonding
Advantages
- A quick, on the spot, decision, correction possibilities according to the patient's desire
- Aesthetic, a very good imitation of natural teeth
- Very gentle- often no filing of the tooth is needed
- Easily repaired on the spot and subject to alterations
- Suitable for small chipping, wiping of the tooth neck.
Attention
- They need frequent checkups and polishing so that they keep their colour and brightness
- If patients are smokers, brush their teeth rigorously, consume raw food and nuts, they change colour rapidly and wear off.
Porcelain veneers
Advantages
- Long lasting solution –up to 10 or more years
- They keep their smoothness, colour and brightness regardless of food, drinks or smoking
- Porcelain is highly biologically tolerable material- it does not cause gum inflammation because it does not retain plaque
- Minimal filing, suitable for patients with no significant tooth damage
Attention
- They require a couple of visits and are manufactured in collaboration with a dental lab
- They cannot be repaired easily
- They are not suitable for patients who grind their teeth
